Another “HAHA” moment for the episode…
Ahaha, the preview this week made me laugh XD
Okay onto more serious matters, it is great to see that some crucial details are finally being revealed…the biggest one of them on being Ao’s brother, or the one we now know as Enjin (engine?) and also former Gin (Silver!).
Thoughts: No monster of the week this time round so it was a fairly “relaxed” episode in terms of action I guess. But even if half of the episode was obligatory fluff and everyday life, the good other half of it was spent developing the characters, unveiling some mysteries and giving the series a more directional sense than what it has been beforehand.
The main chunk of this episode is focused on Akina and Hime’s past friend, Gin. For some reason, the Gin that they knew is no longer present as it revealed that his body was lost to Enjin since two years ago. This pretty much means that there is little chance that Gin’s soul/spirit sill exists but surprisingly (or interestingly for Enjin) he is still alive in his body and we even see him try to strangle himself to put him out of his mystery.
The flashback showed exactly how close the trio (Akina, Hime and Gin) were in the past. And isn’t it just classic to give them some excuse to have a item in which they can bond with each other…items that holds special meaning…in this case three monkey keychains. The story behind it is also pretty funny and definitely shows the three’s different personalities. Gin, being the quite but loyal type managed to sacrifice his own stomach and ate an entire platter of noodles…
Getting three keychains for their valliant effort at the eating task, it’s nice to see that they each get the monkey that represents their character (but Hime should have definitely had the deaf monkey).
So with their relationship established, the next question to ask is why and how did Gin get possessed by Enjin? Enjin is being referred to as demon so maybe that is some hint as to what he truely is?
The other parts of the episode focused on a strange town song sung by Hime, how yakisoba can be stuffed into rice balls and Enjin losing control over his body but still being able to break the barrier into the city. Oh and it seems like we are getting a mixture of theories one being that Enjin wants to grow his own trees but also wanting the existing sakura trees to bloom (and I assume that can only happen by removing the barrier).
Sly Enjin used Akina’s “feelings” for Gin and avoided being sent off to the other world (evil bugger!). But that says nothing to the ninja nun who sliched a car clean in half. Damn, we need more action scenes of this awesome chick!
And a final note, there seems to be some interesting development with Kotoha at least when Enjin’s side kick called her a halfbreed and that she is similar to him? Still, that crazy attitude of his is “wicked”. Kotoha disappointed me somewhat when out of all the things she could have summoned, she summoned some pathetic needles…still, I hope she gets some good development.
Screen caps and “wise guy” comments:
But the possibility isn’t completely zero huh…
*Makes the same face as Akina*
Enjin trying to grow a tree? But it seems like his powers aren’t complete
Fight~o Gin!
Hime needs to worry about her weight a bit more ;p
*CHOMP* ^_^’
Hime also doesn’t like her secrets being revealed
Based on the reaction of Touka methinks that she has a thing for Akina too
Deaf monkey

Isn’t that a miracle
Even the hungry Hime can’t hold down such a feast
EWWWW! That has happened to me before and trust me…it feels awful O.o
“Ahaha~” *pukes*
Well, Hime does seems like the type to walk into a lamp post

Is he hinting something? Gods and demons…and awesome hair by the way!
Flag raised
Needle projectiles? -____-
Is that a threat?
Damn you!
Now THAT is what I am talking about
Please give this girl more screen time…please!!

Anyone that can go around chopping cars in half deserves more screentime
. Though that may be limited since the cost of the damage might hurt the towns budget a bit.
