Ga-Rei Zero episode 6 ~ Back into the action...

Laugh and smile while you can as they will soon turn into salty tears…

Now finally, an episode which reminds me why I am blogging this series in the first place as it brings back two very important factors into the storyline; 1) Battles with great fight scenes and 2) Sheer WTF-ness (though no where enough to top the first two episodes, at least this one is the closest to date).

Thoughts: And as well as the action and mood of the series finally starting to come back to normal thus reminding me why I liked this series, we get some very delicious plot movement. I guess with this the character introductions are over as we are beginning to see the some story unfolding even if it is just the point that more evil spirits are appearing all over the city.

The first fight scene in this episode was very cool indeed I must say and like usual, quality was maintained throughout the episode. Mei showing up in front of Yomi and Kagura implies that they already know each other and Yomi seems to hold Mei with high respects. Funnily enough, we know how Mei plans to succeed the family name by having some “accident” happen to Yomi sooner or later so the whole scene with her teaching Yomi and Kagura to be more diligent made me laugh.

Oh, and Mei’s weapon also double off as an umbrella XD

The mid section of the episode was rather fluffy with Kagura being shown with her normal school life scenes. Sometimes you have to remember that Kagura is living a double life being a student and also going to school. We are introduced to her best friends and a very caring nurse…what happens later was just too cruel ;________;

Kagura meeting with her father (who is way too buffed up than expected O.o) and having an important father-daughter also puts into perspective the seriousness of the work that Kagura is inheriting. Byakuei, the spiritual beast will someday become Kagura’s and once that happens she will be stuck with it for life. Actually, I am wondering if Byakuei has already been past to Kagura at present time when Yomi has already gone mad. If so then perhaps the spirit is somehow able to protect Kagura from Yomi’s blade?

And then the most important (two) parts of the episode…

Firstly, mei unfortunately bumps into the white haired guy and gets her ass killed! Now that was something completely unexpected as I was expecting Mei to live as long as turning Yomi into a crazy demon rather than being killed off so easily. Though the same still holds that if your cold, dead corpse aren’t seen, you are still alive…I think the chances of Mei surviving that this time is rather low.

Then secondly Kagura is once again being forced in a difficult situation where he feelings for someone affect her line of work. She ends up killing the nurse sensei because she was being mind controlled by one of those damn demon blobs! Damnit, I just knew that she would end up dead because of how pretty she smiled earlier…but it just had to have happened…

But seriously both these scene were unexpected though that is meant in a good sense. Welcome back Ga-Rei, I missed you since episode 2…so brace yourself for more angst scenes like these (hopefully).
