And the interesting piece of Youkai fact for this week is (drum roll) they all get drunk on water, which just begs the question; what do they normally drink then anyway?
Thoughts: But apart from that and the last 1/4 of the episode, everything else was pretty slow moving and frankly not at all that entertaining. Perhaps I blame it on watching this episode feeling tired, but from what I can get the entire festival scenes were rather bland and uninspiring. Though I guess it does somewhat put emphasis on the importance of nana-gou and what kind of repetition it holds…that and the fact that shota over there is immortal and is feeling the sting of the past (karma for you :p).
Lots of randomness and pointless talking scenes but thankgod some of the characters made up for the boredom. I can honestly say that I will never be bored of watching the duel wielding nun teasing the life out of shota XD
The house party scene also didn’t add much but show off the characters which remained somewhat entertaining when Akina completely ignored Hime to flirt with Touka. They are such lovey dovey with each other I am surprised that this hasn’t been completely confirmed yet. Then we had the drunken water scene where everyone gets drunk on…you guess it, water.
Perhaps it is special water but I can’t tell from the spoken dialogue. What is funny is the fact that shota also has to deal with a couple of drunktards just like Akina…though if it is the nun, I would prefer his case compared to Akina…shame she is shota’s sister eh?
Then finally the bit of the episode where it gave some plot movement was when Enjin kidnaps Ao in order to make her kill the ‘Gin’ within himself. Poor Ao getting a serious mind raping when Enjin ruthlessly played with her feelings…the team arrives to save her but it seems like it will be a tough fight.
The preview is promising and I am hoping for some kickass fight scenes (come back miss nun :p).

. Found that bit with Akina and Touka fairly entertaining. It combined well with everyone ignoring Hime as she talked about her ritual. Don’t expect it, but do wonder if they will deal with Akina and his relationships. Likely just toss some hints here and there.

Completely not possible but that combined water blast picture was kind of funny. Makes you wonder how they survive on a planet that is full of water.

Technically, this would be a manga spoiler, but I doubt it really matters. The shota pimp has been in the city for over 200 years.
The drink everyone was drinking was changed from the manga version. In the manga, they’re drinking rice wine, not water.
Oh so this was one of those “no showing minors drinking” thing. Understandable…but water is so lame. They could have at least made it juice XD
A juice that affects youkai but not humans makes a whole lot more sense than water. That’s a much better solution. Although magic water is rather funny to think about the implications of rain and stuff.
