A moment of silence please~
Well what do you know, it seem as those dry spells are finally over and we can get down to some serious F business with this series. Now that the introductions and setups are pretty much all over, it is soon time for the series to catch up to where the second episode left off. Still not quite there yet even with this episode but I have to admit; the action kicks ass!
Thoughts: First off I would like to let out a scream…”YOMIIIIIII!!!!!~”…
Those who don’t know yet this scene has finally arrived…Yomi was cruely and suddenly killed off right after the ED for a full bang cliffhanger effect. It happened so suddenly that I pretty much fell off my chair when it did. After all the crap that Yomi went through in this episode having to deal with the death of her adopted father and them having everything taken away from her, this was pretty much the final nail in the coffin (literally).
This was all the butterfly boy’s fault. He just had to appear and cause such a mess with everyone and everything now even killing off poor tormented Yomi. He seems to be the only big villain so far pulling the strings behind the scenes…and I wonder where he gets those mind controlling gems from. In fact his left eyes looks like a giant Sesshouseki in itself so perhaps it is no wonder why he is evil…the gem is evil…
The first half of the episode was pretty much Yomi getting kicked out of her own house and having her sword taken. Poor Yomi tries to fight for the rights of the head but as you could have guessed, her father’s brother won’t just sit there and accept Yomi taking the head space. So, he used his existing power and unfair influence to bend things to his liking making Mei the new head.
Speaking of Mei, I also felt sorry for her because it seems like she was able to regain some memories after being killed…which in turn started to cause her to die when she does. It seems like whilst the Sesshouseki caused host to show their darkest side of her personality, they will be controlled by that side of themselves while the normal self remains inactive. So what happened was that Mei basically awoken up to her normal self (twice) in the episode which when that happened the Sesshouseki starts to turn off causing the wounds on her body to reappear…
And that is damn torture to watch poor Mei in pain and screaming. I still like her character so this would only deepen my sympathy for her.
As said before the fighting scenes were just amazingly good. I quite like how Yomi used Kagura’s sword to give her a surprising advantage when the chain was used (oh and I have to mention the hilarious insert song during the fight). Too bad that she wasn’t able to do much when facing the butterfly boy and died pretty quickly…
Now with this it seems like he will be planting a Sesshouseki into Yomi as well though I find it strange how the Yomi we see in ep 2 held such hate towards Kagura. Up til now I have never seen a scene where Yomi have even showed a bit of dislike or jealousy towards Kagura so it is hard to believe that she holds any of those feeling even deep down in her heart. I am feeling that there is something more to this story…
Also a flashback scene from Yomi…Tooru and Aoi’s scene seems to be an event in the past? O.o
