Truly heartbreaking ;____________;
So what are the chances that Yomi managed to survive that attack. Well nevermind that it seems like this is the end for the Yomi we all know and love that is…heck scratch that, I will still love here even when she turns into dark!Yomi though the characters in the series will no longer feel the same way (asides from Kagura who’s shred of compassion caused her “death” in episode two).
Thoughts: Yomi, Yomi, Yomi…this was such a depression episode through and through, and it seems like this will be the last bit of calm before dark!Yomi comes back to slash everyone she “hates”. And if you think that butterfly boy is just good killing, you would be surprised about his pursuasive abilities too. Even after all the crap that was thrown to Yomi throughout this episode it seemed that it was a miracle that butterfly boy managed to open up her dark thoughts. Alright, it was kind of unfair in the first place with him doing stuff to Yomi without any resistance…because she could have done so being severely by butterfly boy in the first place! He is evil and I hope for the most appropriate death for him for causing the deaths of Mei, Natsuki and corrupting Yomi (who is doomed to die too).
Yomi is such a tragic character in this series, which is why I love her character so much. I’ve always have a soft spot for tragic characters and this episode expressed and developed that part very well…it was just painful to see the strong Yomi in such a state that she could no longer talk and needed to rely on just Kagura to help her.
To make matters worse the death of Mei comes back to haunt her and it is rather lucky that she isn’t killed off as all the evidence points to her as a killer. Well, Mei’s father wanted to kill her off but it is a good thing that Kagura still held onto some power over him unlike Yomi who is lesser…much lesser than before. Though this also resulted in one thing; Yomi is kicked out of the family as her exorcist career is pretty much over and no one is able to protect her. I’m sure Kagura would think of some way but to Yomi it is something her pride wouldn’t allow her to take as she feels that she is being dependent on Kagura. Sure Kagura would have smashed this mentality with such things as “we are family” trying to bring back Yomi onto her feet but it is just a shame that butterfly boy got to Yomi first before Kagura could have…
Yomi seriously lack morale support in this episode which seems to me is due to her state not being disclosed to the others besides just being labeled as Mei’s killer (actually I just remembered that they were present outside the operation room but they don’t know the serious condition Yomi is in). Noriyuki’s engagement with her was broken off by her father who sees Yomi as a useless object who will no longer benefit the family by having her marry into. I just hate this type of tyrannical role male heads have and Noriyuki was just powerless to do anything. In fact he could have really just have gone to visit Yomi if he wanted but the fact that he didn’t means that he views following his father’s order more important than Yomi…aka there was very little love in the relationship.
Though at least he is in angst compared to the other guy (forgot his name) in the division. He probably had no idea how seriously critical Yomi was and so started some friction with Noriyuki when he was too busy angsting.
Emotions reacher their peek for me when during the scene where Kagura is taking care of Yomi. She tried her best to show a smiling side to Yomi and swore to take care of her from now on yet in the end, emotions took over and she broke down into tears. It isn’t fair as she says…it was never fair…and those words just hits yo like an iron hammer. This scene was vastly helped with a lovely piano background track.
But then a seriously ironic scene where Kagura asks whether Yomi did kill Mei out of vengeance and came to the conclusion herself that she would never do such a thing. Though for Yomi it was like another hit to the head and it seemed like Kagura understood as she left the room in tears…though that was the biggest mistake she could have made as butterfly boy came right after she did.
So now that Yomi has one of these bastard gems shoved into her it is inevitable that she will be influenced by her dark side. But on the bright side she keeps all her memories unlike Mei whose wounds appeared again once she begins to remember…at least in the worse case Yomi would just return to being a cripple. Still a lose-lose situation ;_______;
Screen caps and “ultra depressed” comments:
Under the knife, Yomi is saved but the results aren’t good at all
More lolol CG dinos? O.o
Yea…all parts of her body is pretty screwed
Yomi ;___________;
And then the investigation reveals more bad news for Yomi
Damn censors
Noriyuki should have just said “screw you” if he truly loved Yomi
*sigh* this isn’t the time to be arguing
Butterfly boy looks like an alien for this view
Finally awake…but should would have been better off still sleeping
Interrogation time…and she admits to being the culprit
It’s all your fault >.>
Some information on butterfly boy but I didn’t understand the details
Its been too long Natsuki ;_________;
Nope, the spineless twit won’t be coming
More tears when the news that she is going to be kicked out of the house hits
Kagura making her resolve…
…To be with Yomi…
…yet feelings overwhelm her
*cries* Yomi is being so strong
But this isn’t going to last
As Kagura asks her something she shouldn’t have
Yomi can only reply honestly to her doings
And it seems like Kagura understood it…but why show her such a face before leaving…
YOMIIIIiIII!!!
Butterfly boy is too cruel
Ruthless in fact…
Yomi’s dark smile is revealed
and her soul is sold
Kagura will so regret ever leaving her that night

Well… That was one reason, but the father had a point. It isn’t the easiest thing to agree on, after all, to take care of a woman who literally can’t do anything anymore for the REST of your life. Looking from the sidelines, maybe so, but the father wasn’t necessarily just caring about his family lineage, but was indeed caring about his son.
And Noriyuki too… It’s not that there was little love, but he was hesitating. I guess this is rather more on the realistic side, compared to basic protagonists with the nerves to accept rogue nuns right away or the such.
Yomi committed murder, even if it was for avenging her adopted father. The butterfly boy said that he cannot make people do evil things if they weren’t evil. Yomi killed her step-sister out of anger, thus she is doomed the moment she ignored her role as an exorcist. Even if Mei deserved to die, and Yomi had every right to murder her on the spot, the fact that Yomi took pleasure in it was enough to stir the devil’s pot of sins. About Yomi’s fiancee, yeah, he never was much of a lover to begin with. How do you feel if you’re in an arranged marriage solely for profit and power? I reckon you wouldn’t be so thrilled.
hatred, jealousy are just part of the humanity. It just the way it was that Yomi killed her step-sister for avenging her adopted father. Yomi just had to accept it as it was.

I suppose you can say it is realistic but if it was real love then I doubt he would so easily give up on the relationship. It’s just another thing to outline humans flawed nature. Noriyuki is angsting but while part of it is due to the fact of not being able to do anything, another part is the feeling or relief that this relationship is over and hating himself for thinking that way.
Uh, she didn’t kill Mei. Mei was ALREADY DEAD. And she saw that Mei turned into something unhuman. Of course, after Mei told her how she tortured her stepfather she flipped out. And even if she left Mei alive instead of stabbing her, Mei wouldve either turned evil again, or died because the stone expired.
