“Kuro ne?”
“Kuro da…”
So I knew that Jade could be very evil and cold blooded…but what happened here in this episode was a bit too much. “Oi, oi, did you really have to kill him so fast?”
Thoughts: While it wasn’t the main thing that happened in this episode, although it should have been, Dist’s fight with the group turned out to give more of a “WTF” reaction rather than just disappointment. I mean we all know how unloved the God Generals are, but with such a tearful death scene for Arietta and even a second chance given to Sync, Dist’s death turned out to be extremely bland…if not shockingly sudden at the hands of Jade. Naturally I never thought that Jade would actually go ahead and kill Dist with his own hands but there you have it…his sudden turn in character as he completely removed any feelings of attachment (even as a friend to Dist) was rather unexpected and I am not sure whether that is a good thing or not. Still wow…just…wow…
After that bit of shocking development we then have Asch telling the others that he will be going ahead with the ritual no matter what. I had no idea that the replicas collected on the island had limited wills for themselves so when Asch told them to decide whether they want to sacrifice themselves for their kind came as a surprise. It seems like Guy’s sister will be saving “him” again and I must commend him for not breaking down at this deja vu sight. Whether it is the actual indication that Guy has grown stronger since then or that the producers just didn’t have time to add his feelings into all this is left for you to decide.
As for the rest of the episode the focus fell onto Luke to “do the right thing” and to sacrifice himself for the greater good of the world. While Luke wasn’t totally with the idea at first, he had a deep thought about it and came to the conclusion that he should give his life away since Asch was also willing to do so, and he is the original of the two.
While the rest preferred him not to throw away his own life, Jade is still as calm and analytical as ever so he chooses Asch over Luke. Fortunately it does seem that Jade can feel pain as he seems to regret having to kill his previous best friend but being the only smart person in the group, he has no choice but not to act based on emotions. Tear on the otherhand tells Luke to do whatever he wants but blatantly implies that she will hate Luke if he decides to die off just like that. Tear being the tsundere that she is…but I am still disappointed at her character, I expected so much more ;______;
Oh and as the ultimate sign of irony, the way things are going right now is going exactly how the score is predicting. Damn that evil score…how can it be so persistent…the only other persistent inanimate object that I can think of is the blasted tree from Da capo and it just goes to show how some of these things can turn into cockroaches.
So come the day when the ritual takes place we have Luke actually acting out what he had originally planned although we can clearly see that he is crapping himself; who says being a martyr is an easy job? Well at least Luke is human enough to admit that he doesn’t want to die so I give him credit for that at least.
But while the ritual ended without Luke disappearing, unlike the other replicas, things aren’t anymore rosey for him since the doctor told him that he now has cancer and will slowly die. Guess it is time for him to say his goodbyes…but since Tear overheard the truth I wonder what she would do from now on. I don’t care what she does as long as it is something to be honest >.>”
Screen caps and comments:
Here you go Kaio, the tower is huge and running up it is definitely not faster than taking the elevator
Natalia asking the most obvious question (but since stuff like this happens frequently already *shrugs*)
“Nee san?”
Stay strong Guy, it isn’t the end of the world
Luke: “Well…err…damn I have no come back for that one”
Dist really should make something more scary looking
OH FFFFFFFF, detaaaaa!
Nice suit Dist
That can only mean that Jade is at full power…time to run
Flashback scene showing what jade is about to throw away, that reminds me of poor sensei’s demise D:
NOOOOOOOOOO!
*Boom*
Jade…I really didn’t expect you to do that, hats off
“Only if you can think up of an alternative”
You had to open your big mouth
This comment made me laugh…since all that Luke is missing for enlightenment is to shave off the remainder of his hair…come to think, he is the second person to be so this week
Although I don’t think he particularly wants too
When sorry seems to be the hardest word
On one hand this is the pure facts
On the otherhand, human emotions are complex
Regret for killing Dist?
Tear won’t stop Luke from killing himself
Since she was given the same fair treatment
But she just has to be a tsundere in this situation
Talk about irony…stupid score
A promise to the replicas, hopefully this will come true at least
Well Luke does have a point…
Asch must also have cancer >.>
The second NOOOOOOOO of the episode
Come forth! EXCALIBUR!
Is this a “just as planned” moment for Asch? kukukuku~
So the jewel saved his ass…
But Jade is smarter than that
Even if Luke can lie to the whole world
He can’t lie to GOD!
Incoming more angst

I, for one, am happy to see Dist gone. I don’t know why, but I just can’t seem to like him despite his popularity. While Jade does come off as really cold, he’s just the kind of person to state the facts and not let emotions get in his way. I mean, he’s only fully shown his emotions a few times so far, and then he just quickly returns to his old self.
Still, that was really quick, even by my watch…though the battlefield at the top of the Tower makes more sense than it did on the game — what with fighting on a rather large moving elevator and all.
This is the point where my building confidence in Luke collapsed during the game. I’m guessing the same will happen over the next few episodes…
As for Jade undoing the seal, that does make sense. Though I got the skit for that during Feres Island…Basically, he’s back around lvl40 something (or was it 45?), and ready to KICK ASS.
Well, to tell the truth, it’s better than the way it’s portrayed in the game. After beating him, Dist sets a detonator on his Kaiser Dist so that he takes everyone out with him, with his last line being “Professor Nebilim…I’m coming…” Too bad for him, Luke comes out, uses a single energy punch attack (Forgot the name of the attack) on the Kaiser Dist, and sends it and Dist “blasting off again”. Oh and in the game, Dist lives too.
Yeah, Dist is a glorified cockroach. Because not only does he survive here AGAIN, he shows up later, only to have a *BOOM, HEADSHOT* moment…and then survive once again. You’d think his luck would run out eventually…
@Setsu ~ I’m okay about Dist trying to suicide while having some last words but when it got to Luke “energy punching him” into space…that is a bit ridiculous…still…damn you nonexistent fight scene *rolleyes*
Haha, I love Dist. Jade being the one to kill him made me speechless. Plus, I wanted a fight scene. I mean, in the game when St. Binah is falling and they try to get the population out of the city, Dist pops out with a flying chair and a huge robot to stop them. Then, people are left behind as the ground is open and the city starts to actually fall. And Anise or Luke said “Damn, I wish we could fly”. Well, there *was* a crtain individual with a freaking flying chair, you know. Instead of shooting his face and taking it by force they have to travel all around to world to get a plane.
But if Dist was an ONE HIT KILL, why bother letting him alive to make the sintuation even more complicated? Mohs would be spared as well. =/ Making him die in a lame way by Jade’s hands (baaw and he was all “Jade! Jade! <3″) while Arietta gets all the beautiful long death makes me mad. Dist deserved some love, he could be a deep character if better explored since his past is also touching.
Well, at least we have the Gaidens Manga and some novels. I’ll ignore the anime’s fails if they show replica!Nebilim (not very likely, since they have to run to show all the story in 26 eps or so).
