What? It is the end of the world as we speak and you want us to take a holiday?!
Oh, just how nice of them to dedicate this episode to being a set up for the final two episodes…wait…did you just say the final two? And just how much more stuff is needed to cover? Surely this relaxed way of story telling will come back and bite on their asses, and I was right!
Thoughts: Well, more or less anyway since I have already finished watching the series and while it wasn’t bad, it could have been so much more better especially when it is concerning the fight scenes and the lack of time dedicated to them, thanks to a relaxed and slow paced episode like this one (which I think was quite badly placed). BUT! On the otherhand, it was interesting to watch the scene between Asch and Luke as they bicker on to each other about their own ideals.
And frankly, this happens to be the most memorable part of the episode as the rest seemingly merged into one big, insignificant blur. I will explain the meaning behind it again below but the general gist of the argument between the two is that Asch just can’t stand watching Luke trying to be inferior towards Asch even when they are technically the same being. For Asch it maybe an unforgivable act for Luke to feel inferior simply because Luke was the man who took everything away from him and what was the point of that if he just ended up being weaker.
Not surprisingly, I really felt for Asch’s case here since he is just screams tragic anti-hero all over. I believe that he is jealous of Luke for having family and friends but when Luke then goes to say that he is still worse off than Asch, I can truely feel the pain that must be swelling up inside him. As he had already said, he beat a man weaker than him but this man, in his eyes, should be the superior in everyway, yet Luke is just forfeiting that purely because he thinks that he is second for being a replica. Asch surely can’t forgive him and neither can I.
But much to Asch’s surprise, Luke actually struck back this time round in response to his harsh words (“HOW DARE THIS DRECK TALK BACK!”) saying that he is different from Asch and so that they can’t be equals. And while Luke does have a point, in the end, he is still trying to push all the responsibilities onto Asch saying that this is his job since he is the original. Frankly, I see the bad side of this and find it cowardly *rolleyes* but trust Tales to bring out something this deep near the end.
As for the rest of the episode, it is pretty much reflections for each characters and what they are going to do from now on, blah blah blah~
Screen caps and comments:
So putting things back into perspective, lets hurry up and nuke Eldrant
But what about the convenient nuke? D:
Ehhhhhhhhhh!
Little Jade looking as cute as usual :p
“hohohoho”
Oh and it seems like Anise has a new plaything
What a nice name though I am surprised that they didn’t name him after Ion
Talk about passing the responsibility around, but this is where things get ugly
Master?? Luke still calls Van his master???!!
Thanks for saying it out for me ^^’
*nod**nod* worthless dreck indeed
And here is Asch speaking his inner feelings
“When you should be considered you have support”
And he has every right to be jealous and angry at Luke for reasons explained
But Luke dares to snap back and with his friends all behind him, I pity Asch since he has noone by his side…at all
Luke is trying to find his own sense of worth here
small print: “It’s because I am lazy” XP
Well it would have been better if the question was better explored in the series
And here comes the individual reflections
Yet, Tear still feels like such a shallow character D:
But damn was this flashback cute as heck XD Yukana is so much loves <3
Ironically…well…I will tell you guys later
Magical pixie dust, is there anything they can’t do? (Looks over to Gundam00)
Foolish Luke
Meanwhile, Asch is having a heartattack, I swear that they still haven’t explained his dire condition to us D:
Well, that is until the next revelation comes
Guy here doing the right thing
And why isn’t Anise kicked out of the pub
Trust Jade to come up with a thorny response anyday
That is his aim
And that is hers
Now children go back to bed!
Luke X Tear moment here
Baka, don’t say something that will ruin the mood
And I have to say that I am rather annoyed that they haven’t kissed at all D:
The piece of land is chasing you, hahaha
Time for the final showdown (maybe…)

I’ve finished the series too…though I forgot to go back and download an HD raw for the final episode. Bah, I’ll get to that later.
Yeah, the entire Luke vs Asch argument was the main reason I volunteered to time this episode, and my reason for timing 25 is very obvious, seeing how I prefer Asch so much more than Luke. The argument basically voiced all of our comments about Luke’s crap logic, and it feels nice to hear it out loud.
Also, while the whole “do whatever you want” time given feels really awkward in the anime, it was obvious we were going to get hit by the pre-final dungeon conversations.
That reminds me, I have to screenshot 25 so I can post the summary over at HSA…XD;;
Ah so I’m not the only one who though that Luke’s logic was complete crap no matter how much he tried to sugarcoat it *rolleyes*
Thankgod
i wasted my time viewing this crappy blog everything you said was complete BS. Don’t even deny it. I hate your crappy logic. If you get angry because of this then your crappy too. Don’t bother posting if all you’re expecting are good comments.
i really, reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally want to hug Florian. He looks so darn huggable. but then, so did Ion.
