Eushully Presents 2008 (A Retrospective)

Inspired By Skyfall, Here Is My Talk About An Eroge I Am Anticipating

Now who wants to put aside all this talk about infighting and blogging and talk about a more fun subject.  I’ll be the first to take that step and talk about Japanese PC Gaming.  When I think of eroges I like and the ones that make them, two producers come to mind.  One is of course Alicesoft and the other is a company I’m not sure many have heard of called Eushully.  Usually they only make like one game a year and it’s pretty much been awesome every time.  Continue reading ‘Eushully Presents 2008 (A Retrospective)’

Final Decision Regarding Animeblogger

In seeing all the drama popping up in animeblogger yet again, this time regarding something about an Anime Blogging Collective, I don’t even know what to believe anymore.  I do know however that I want to keep blogging.  I have come up with my answer, and it seems like the only good one that will lead to the least amount of stress for me and hopefully a good time for those who like to read what I have to write. Kodomo No Jikan Season 2 Announced

For the Lolicon in me there is little better to know that more Kodomo No Jikan with the pint sized Kagami Kuro that manages to stand so tall over everyone else.  Of course Kokonoe Rin is our main girl, but Kagami is the one I simply can’t resist.  If I recall the second season ended around the part where Rin is coping with her dark side after almost pushing Hoin down the stairs.  Continue reading ‘Kodomo No Jikan Season 2 Announced’

Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de – Episode 13 End

And here goes another one of my favorite series from the winter season. The ending was just what I wanted and then some. I just wish that there would be a continuation of this but that seems to be an empty dream. Time to pitch out some cash for the game then.

Gundam 00 Episode 24 (The Endless Poem)

Anyone remember episode 49 of Zeta Gundam, “Casualites of War”, well this episode might not match it’s bloodbath, but it makes a rather strong effort.  Also two more aside things before we get started.  MS Igloo 2 has been announced and details can be found at it’s homepage.  Yes it’s still 3D CGI and hopefully Sunrise has actually figured out how to do that in a way that doesn’t make the characters look overly creepy and apparently it’s supposed to focus on the Earth Federation’s ground war this time around.  Pretty cool considering the MS Igloo franchise was never supposed to make it beyond the walls of the Bandai Museum. CLANNAD, Extra Episode “Summer Break Incident”

CLANNAD ended last week however… Do things really end like this, after such confession? Well, not really!
Aside of the announcement of the second season, ~AFTER STORY~, we got an extra episode following the main plot.

Nagisa and Tomoya are starting their new life as a couple… However, things don’t go that smoothly, picking the interest of many girls… and one of them is Mei, who certainly wants to pull some strings for the 2 lovers!

Debating Whether It’s Worth It Anymore

Over the past week I have become so utterly disillusioned with the state of anime blogging, the utter nonesense and drama that goes into many peoples writings and just the politics in general that I wonder if it’s worth it anymore.  It does not bring me any joy anymore like it used to, having to constantly fend off personal attacks from people who take issue with me telling them that I think they are on the wrong track and reading all the blogging to bitch rants that seem to dominate animeblogger as a whole.  I don’t really want any part of it anymore… least for the time being.  Like before I think I really just need a break from it all or it’s going to just turn me back into the angry anime fan I used to be.  Believe it or not I don’t like arguing with people all the time, but I like to debate topics of relevance.  Many facets of anime blogging have ceased being relevant for me and now look like the kind of partisan pissing contests you see when you turn on C-Span.  Continue reading ‘Debating Whether It’s Worth It Anymore’

Looking Back At Gundam 00 Season 1 (Addressing The Criticism)

So now that we are almost at the end of the first season I’ve decided to do something that nobody else I know of has tried to do.  I’m going to talk a little bit about some of the criticisms levelled at the series and try to address them with my own thoughts.  Some are well though out and accurate while others are not so much in my opinion.  Nonetheless I think it’s worth taking a look at so let’s begin then shall we. F*** CBS

Jericho, one of the best dramas (a dying genre on American Networks) to grace television since the advent of Reality TV has been cancelled again thanks to the overwhelming stupidity of CBS. Apparently a 6.8 million viewer low in the Nielsen ratings is not good enough for them so they decided to pull the plug on what is easily the best drama to grace TV in years. Snow Sakura (Visual Novel)

So, what is an anime fan that suffers from major boredom issues to do when he doesn’t feel like any new series and all the abominations in PC games need a rest from the beating you have been dishing out ? Simple – get your hands on one of the Visual Novels that have lingered on your “to do” list forever and get cracking. Snow Sakura was not all that familiar title to me and the OP didn’t seem all that catchy either, so i was not sure what to expect. In the end i can say this: even though some aspects of the story could have been handled better, this turned out to be one of my most enjoyable experiences recently with top notch humor and some commendable characters.
