And another moment of silence please for Luke’s hair
I for one quite enjoyed the peace and quiet of not having Luke screaming down your hear in an annoying fashion this episode and will only hope that it stays this way from now on. Even though Asch sort of replace Luke in the shouting, I find his voice more acceptable and less annoying than Luke in a strange, strange way. Maybe it is because I prefer Asch a lot more than Luke (at the moment) and actually feel sorry for his case…
Thoughts: Quite a lot of information in this episode and not that much action, even so I still thoroughly enjoyed it like all the other previous episodes from this series. The story is really solid and has yet to fall prey to being rushed crap, like other Tales adaptions.
So the story continues with Asch synching with Luke so that he will be able to hear the situation without given the chance to voice his own opinions, or he does try to but I just laughed at how easily Asch was able to just ignore Luke and carry on normally. Though I found this act from Asch quite strange as it seems like he is actually trying to help Luke to walk down a better path than what he is currently used to. Perhaps Asch wants to help Luke in some way even though he still calls him a dreck…either that or he just wants to cause Luke pain and angst through regret though I see that as unlikely.
Asch knows a lot about that kind of pain himself and his dream just makes me feel sorry for him even more. It’s quite an interesting dilemma because Asch’s pain is trying to balance out with “Luke’s pain”.
What’s more the attitude towards the “original and replica” situation from Guy and Natalia seems to just outline both sides of the argument. On one hand Guy is arguing for the Luke who they have known for seven years since his “creation”. It is very understandable that they should be helping Luke to get back onto his feet…afterall they have been together for the past seven years and thus should hold stronger bonds than the “Luke” who disappeared for seven years.
Yet on the other hand we have Natalia arguing for Asch who has lost seven precious years of his life through no fault of his own. I can see why Natalia wants the real Luke to acknowledge her because afterall, he is the real Luke who she once fell in love with not this “selfish, arrogant fake” who took his place. Now that is putting it in a bad tone but I don’t believe Natalia thinks this way. I believe she just wants to spend time with the real Luke and to give him the love which was rightfully his but was taken away by Van.
So whilst Guy goes off to reunite with Luke we have Natalia staying to be closer to Asch. I can’t blame either of them for their actions which makes this such a dilemma. But for Guy at least…it seems like he has another reason hidden which may surface later on (in fact, I say that it will!). Asch actually showed a good sense of understanding when he “jokingly” said that he knew that Guy would pick Luke over him. Though Natalia just can’t help but call Asch Luke thus resulting in him not liking that. Poor Natalia or poor Asch?
The dream really hit on my heart strings how much Asch has suffered. I have heard that he is becoming more and more different than he is from the game which could be a good or bad thing. For now I like Asch the way he is as he isn’t shown to be a real Villain but rather a victim. I like the guy but his “straight forward and blunt” personality can be taken in a bad way.
Stepping back away from this for a bit, we have most of the gang returning to the surface to look for some information. This leads to Jade getting some development when it was revealed by Spinoza that he is in fact the father of fomicry. Spinoza turned out to be one of the bastards who was involved in creating Luke and tries to push the blame onto Jade for presenting the world with the theory of fomicry…though HAHA! it doesn’t work that easy you old fool.
The argument presented by Spinoza was just crap and messed up in logic. As if someone would try to blame the creator for something he didn’t do and not only that, it was something Jade tried to stop. Though I suppose we can see how Jade feels guilty of being indirectly responsible for Luke’s creation. His role is becoming more clear and I feel that this scene has just explained a lot of things, including why he once said that Luke might hate him.
So with more talking it is then revealed that Van has plans to cause more destruction to the outer lands and things aren’t already looking pretty either with another chunk of land soon to collapse because one of the support pillars disappeared thanks to Luke.
Asch then banishes Luke from his mind and tells him to think what he has to do from now on for himself. Actually I take this as some advice almost as if Asch wanted to show Luke a more serious side to the situation than what he only knows about.
So Luke confronts Tear about his problems and gets yet another slap to the face. Though this time he actually does want to chance and instead of going off in a mood he wanted to prove to Tear that he will become a different person. So he cuts his hair! I think this is a scene a lot of us has been waiting for and finally it is here. Now how will the new and improved Luke act. I certainly hope his words of change aren’t just hot air. The jury is out and it is time for Luke to gain some good points (about damn time too).
Screen caps and “wise guy” comments:
That’s because…YOU ARE HIM!
Oh so that was what Dist did to Luke
Mieu is really loyal, isn’t he…but this time round I find their relationship to be quite “cute”
You tell them Natalia :p
I take it he means that this will only be a quick fix for the meantime
Tear staying behind to pray for the dead? (or just for Luke…nahhh)
Nice CG effects :3
Oh someone who sells information for money, I can’t believe that even Van makes use of their services
Guy being a good buddy to Luke
I suppose…but don’t beat yourself too hard about it
On there other hand she also has a point
KILL HIM MOAR!
Jade is awesome as always with his use of words 😄
You mean extinction don’t you?
Guy’s choice huh
And it’s great to see Asch being so accepting
Van’s special torturing machine D:
I agree…poor Asch, but instead of becoming a depressed bugger he became a badass
Is that his weak side I wonder?
Now why would they have that lying around…
Van’s personal army?…OH SHI~
I support this pairing!
Bad news just keeps coming
And it is time for Luke to repent
Tear with her cold stare <333
Finally he understands (?)
Well according to Tear he still doesn’t
But he is trying to show change so I would at least give him that much
Goodbye long hair
