If people hadn’t noticed already, I’m a huge Gundam fan, and the only thing that’s got more excited and in anticipation of it’s eventual release more than Gundam 00 Season 2 is the upcoming MS Igloo 2 OVA.  It’s a good thing then that Sunrise/Sotsu Agency should think to release a PV for the first OVA to whet my appetite and boy does it just look orgasmically awesome.  At least to me.  The OVA is set to take place during the One Year war again (Cause having it in any other time period would defeat the purpose of showing the other sides of the war since beyond the One Year War Mobile Suits became the mainstream weapon of war and there arguably were no real other sides) and will focus on the Earth Federations ground war this time. 

Kure-Nai ~ Episode 8 ~ Pray for good luck

My apologies for the lateness, there was some things I needed to take care of. Anyway, here we are with another episode of Kurenai. This week it seems that the main event is just around the corner with warnings of bad luck (literally) and Shinkurou’s wavering feeling towards the true identity of Murasaki.

The first half of this episode was fairly peaceful and in the classic Kurenai style that I’ve grown to love. The group visit the shrine for Shichi-Go-San for Murasaki to pray for good luck.

This has what I’m looking for, lots of Kagami Kuro.  When last we left off Rin had decided that she had to stick by the increasingly obsessive and neurotic Reiji because he “needs her”.  Aoki doesn’t seem to know what to do and we always know what he does when that happens so let’s go talk to Hoin.

Kara no Kyoukai, Movie 1

I confess, before watching this movie I have to admit that I knew absolutely nothing other than it was by Type-Moon and that it is loosely connected to Tsukihime. So coming into this at a blind, I was open to accept whatever Nasu had to throw at the viewer and it was…interesting to say the least.

One thing which I didn’t expect (which I should have actually) was that this movie completely throws the viewer into the deep end and expect you to pick up the theme rather quickly, talk about a steep learning curve.

The Namco Bandai Gashapon Court Case

This is one of those interesting court cases where the onus cannot entirely be put on one party for ensuring that the safety standards of toys are met.  On the one hand Namco Bandai was found culpable for the suffering endured by a 2 year old toddler when he swallowed one of their Gashapon capsules which resulted in permenant brain damage due to lack of oxygen flow, and was ordered to pay the guardians of the child 26 million yen.  Yet on the other hand the capsule size had met the 4 meter self imposed regulations by the industry for choking hazards.   Likewise one could argue that the parents were at fault for not carefully monitoring their child’s activities, as careful attention would have not allowed the Gashapon capsule to get into the toddlers hands and eventually mouth in the first place.

If you are of the type that gets an infinite amount of laughs out of spreading the same one liner that everyone has probably heard a dozen times before you got around to it, do yourself a favour and read what BobServo has to say over on Something Awful about why I now believe the internet meme has replaced the witless pun as the lowest form of humour.  After doing so perhaps you might come to appreciate why I often try hard to come up with jokes and self-coined definitions of my own and am so “uptight” as to not lace my blog articles with overused jokes that were probably never funny (and never will be).  Here’s to good humour and a memeless Animehistory.  Cheers!

Code Geass R2 Episode 09 Postponed To June 8th

The Fudge Is An Urgent Navi?!  

This time it’s no rumour or anything of the sort, it’s been confirmed in the TV schedule itself and not 2ch.  Speculation places the reason on the recent earthquakes in China and the plotline now moving into dealing with the Chinese Federation.  So I guess you can call it a part of Japan’s sudden newfound cautionary censorship that they never even had 2 years ago.  Of course others have speculated that it has to do with the ratings, which I think if it were the case they would have just announced they were cancelling the series out of hand instead of bumping an episode 1 week.
