And I’m not joking about the boulders part
“Finally, we are about to get a bit of decent action” was what I thought when this episode started but as you can probably guess, this certainly wasn’t what happened…sadly…
Thoughts: But even so there isn’t much to talk about for this episode as it was basically a huge fight where our heroes get their asses kicked (besides kyousuke and the Nun who actually did something other than showing to the enemy how weak they are) along side some very predictable development.
I guess I will start off with the development side of things. So it is revealed that Enjin’s objective wasn’t to amass a huge army of Youkai by growing his own tree but rather to destroy the world by merging both the human and Youkai worlds together. His actions seem more like a revenge towards being sent to the hellish Youkai world once by someone in the past (or so it seems, it would also be great irony if the one who sent him over turned out to be Akina’s father or something).
So as far as we know, he manages to succeed in breaking the barrier around the trees with the help of Akina…who completely gave up to “Gin” and unlocked the door to the roots of the tree for Enjin. Akina really does suck as a character, doesn’t he?
As for Hime, I have to feel sorry for her because she has been left in the dark about Enjin by Akina the whole time. Akina tried to be some kind of heroic soul by shouldering all the heavy responsibilities all by himself but he turned out to be completely useless in the end. Hime on the other hand had the shock of her life when she found out that Gin may still be alive in Enjin’s body…yet she still decided to stab that illusion of him.
But even that had it’s limits as she progressively loses her will to fight against “Gin”. I can’t really blame her for that though.
Shinozuka once again shows how much he kicks ass by taking on everyone whereas Kotoha was just…crap. She uses her cannon again which clearly doesn’t work but I guess that shows the limits of her imagination. I personally would have opened the gates of babylon and see how Shinozuka reacts to that.
The highlight of this episode for me was naturally the short appearances of Nun chan and how she managed to stick her sword into Enjin (muhahaha). Though because of her dumbass brother she wasn’t allowed to do anything more to interfere with the fate of the town. *Sighs*
Without any options left Hime takes out a shining spear and chops in half the tree that Enjin caused to speed grow. But what effect will this have on both worlds? Did Hime succeed in stopping the two worlds from merging? We shall find out next episode (which hopefully is more interesting than this one).
Screen caps and “wise guy” comments:
Shocking news to Hime thanks to Akina
Stuff that we didn’t know about finally revealed…
Shinozuka looking as badass as usual
Now you see him…
…Now you don’t
Hime squaring off one on one against Enjin…but he is just too strong for her (or rather she is much too young)
Just look at him stop that bullet from Kotoha’s cannon -____-
I agree
Enjin putting on his Gin act here
Though Hime won’t be fooled by such a thing
Damn…
Oh lets try this again, now you see him…
…Now you don’t
Enjin is pissed
Kotoha fails *sigh*
Nun chan!!!! She would have kicked everyone’s asses
If she was given the chance, damned brother
Sexy <3333
Sounds like hypocrisy for Akina
Enjin’s objective finally revealed
Somehow, I’m feeling more and more sympathy for Enjin…I think I would be joining his side soon
Do It! well of course you can’t
“Out of my way you dreck!”
Well at least someone didn’t make it completely easy for him to do his thing to the tree
Kyaaaa~~~Kakkoii yoo~
I wonder if we will see trigger fingers again
Reminds me of Clannad -____-
Uhoh
The tree is breaking apart, that must be the barrier
Though Hime won’t just sit there and let it grow, thankfully
Agree that Kotoha was being stupid in this. I mean sure you hit Shinozuka once before but doesn’t mean you have to just use that weapon. I’m with the plan of using the Gates of Babylon on him :D. Only reason it worked was thanks to Ao and Hime deflecting it to where the guy was going to be. I mean seriously your fighting super speed. Why the heck do you think fighting speed with a slow firing cannon would work? But honestly I’m with Kotoha that stopping the shot with his bare hands is just not possible. Enjin was obviously going to smoke everyone in this without a whole lot of trouble.
Smooth move Akina. I knew that when he was trying to keep it quiet that things would go bad for everyone. Ao was left alone and caught completely off guard because Akina wouldn’t tell her anything. Until he can kick Enjin’s ass by himself needs to start using his head and not keeping it all to himself.
Thank god for the Nun since she was one of the few doing anything effective. If she was allowed to act then it wouldn’t have been hard to stop Enjin in his tracks.
No offence Enjin but humans have a comparable. Its called the death penalty. I don’t think destroying the world anyways is going to make it much better for anyone.

Not in Japan. The death penalty is illegal there.
